USING IMPULSE SEALERS TO SEAL BAGS
On most Impulse Sealers: It is best to start with the heating control set between 1 & 2 on the control knob.
Each unit seals slightly different after you seal a few bags you will find the best setting for each film thickness.
NOTE: Polypropylene and Poly Bag films melt very easily keep your temperature low until you find the best setting.
TIPS ON SEALING TRUE CELLOPHANE BAGS WITH IMPULSE SEALERS:
Unlike Polypropylene or Poly plastic type bags cellophane will not melt together because they are made from
wood pulp they will burn but will not melt. On a cellophane bag it is actually the PVdC Barrier Coating that
seals the bag closed with either an Impulse Sealer or Constant Direct Heat Sealer. That is why if you try to
reseal a cellophane bag in the same place as before it will not seal because you burnt the coating off the
first time. Pick another location on a cellophane bag then it will reseal just fine.
NOTE: If you scorch a cellophane bag it will turn brown where you sealed it and the seal will not hold.
TURN BROWN – Similar to it you leave microwave popcorn in for too many minutes and the bag burns.
If you burnt the cellophane bag the bag is now useless unless you cut the top of the bag off. Once the
coating is burnt off you cannot reseal a cellophane bag in the same place. Same thing goes for not burning
the bag but the bag did not seal the coating is now gone and the bag will not seal.
